It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Policy Studies at the Institute of Capacity Building and Policy Studies (ICBPS).
Our department is dedicated to advancing rigorous, evidence-based policy research and advisory services that support the successful implementation of Ethiopia’s Homegrown Economic Reform (HGER) and the Ten-Year Development Plan (2021–2030). In alignment with the priorities of the South Ethiopia Regional State, we strive to generate policy insights that are practical, inclusive, and responsive to local realities.
Working across the Institute’s core clusters—economic policy, social development, governance and institutional reform, and capacity building & knowledge systems—we aim to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice. Our focus is not only on producing high-quality analysis, but also on ensuring that evidence is effectively translated into actionable policies and meaningful development outcomes.
We are committed to fostering collaboration, innovation, and policy dialogue among government institutions, development partners, academia, and communities. Through these partnerships, we seek to contribute to institutional strengthening, improved service delivery, and sustainable development in our region and beyond.
We invite you to engage with our work, share insights, and collaborate with us in shaping policies that drive inclusive growth, resilience, and transformation.
